Hi,
My wife has fibromyalgia and can only walk short distances without pain. In 2007, we rented a scooter from you for our week at Walt Disney World. (We heard about you from a thread on the DisBoards website.) The scooter was high quality, never had a problem with maintaining a charge, and turned what could have been a horrible, painful trip for Dee into a memorable vacation. When we came back in October 2009, we never even thought about it – the first call we made after booking our room was to Randy’s to make sure that a scooter was available. A month before our trip, I had to have knee surgery. That would have forced us in the past to cancel our vacation but this time I just called and ordered up a second scooter and the trip went off without a hitch.
My first experience with Disney-by-scooter was a blast but the thing that surprised me was how many people came up to me asking me where I got my scooter. Some of them were in wheelchairs, some in Disney park scooters, some in cheap-looking rentals. They seemed most impressed with the quality of the scooter. I handed out the business card that the driver had given me to the first person who asked but I told everyone where I got it and gave the number to a couple of people. (By the way, the driver who met us at 6:45 AM to bring us our scooters was great! He really went out of his way!).
We are going to be in Orlando again next month starting the 9th and I have already reserved 2 scooters. I need one this time because I had heel spurs removed in February and am still in a cast for another week yet. I figure it will be easier to rent a second scooter than to chance tearing up my new heel. If you want to leave a few extra business cards in the basket, I will be happy to hand them out for you.
When I called to reserve the first scooter for my wife, the person I talked to said that if I sent a picture, he would see that we got the same or similar scooter. I didn’t think that it was necessary because my wife doesn’t need the biggest or fanciest or best scooter and, at the time, I didn’t need one at all. Since then, my wife has been reading reports of people having problems with something called the “Dream scooter” being refused entry onto Disney busses because of its size. None of the reports mentioned Randy’s as having the scooter but I figured I would weigh in on this before we get there. If you do rent them, the Dream Scooter is not necessary. We were quite happy with the scooters we had last time and wouldn’t be the least bit disappointed to get the same two. The driver last time indicated that the scooter I was using was a bit heavier duty than Dee’s but not the type that is rated for 450 pounds. (Dee is a little over 200, I’m a hair shy of 300).
So here’s a pic:

As you can see, we were quite happy…
If you need a satisfied customer for a testimonial, you have two right here.
You saved our vacation twice for a lot less than Disney charges.
See you May 9th!

I have rented from Randy's everytime I've gone to Orlando for the last four years (once a year). They drop it off and pick it up on your last day. They are friendly and they are always nice scooters.

Re: Randy\'s Mobility
I have used Randy's Mobility to rent an ECV quite often in the past 3-4 years. Their equipment is in wonderful condition. One time the power switch broke, they were out to replace it in no time. They are very prompt timewise for delivery and pickup and very friendly.

We have used Randy's in the past and I know other people who have used them and were very pleased with them. Randy's is one of the recommended off-site rental places on another WDW forum.
I have heard that one of the reasons their rates are lower is because they drop the ECV off and pick it up directly from the customer. That allows them to make sure the customer knows how to use it and they don't have to worry about it sitting someplace possibly getting damaged or lost while it is waiting to be picked up.

Re: Randy\'s Mobility
We used them to get an ECV for my mother during our trip at the end of last year and were pleased. They were a fair amount cheaper than other options which is why we chose them. The only drawback is that you actually have to meet with them for delivery and pickup rather than just have them leave it at the hotel for you. This wasn't a problem for us at all but it amy be for others. The guy we met with was a few minutes early for our drop off and right on time for pickup and was very nice. He spent about 5-10 minutes showing Mom how everything worked and making sure we understoood how to fold it up to put it in the car, etc.
